Mercury'paw lay still in the hunter's crouch, tasting the air for pray. she smelt a shrew, and when she listened she could hear the tiny creature scattering leaves as it searched the ground for seeds. while wiggling her hindquarters, she pounced. the shrew had just a tiny moment before Mercury'paw had bitten into it, snapping its neck. she let out a purr. 'today is a good day' she thought
